COOLSCULPTING OR EMSCULPT NEO – WHICH WOULD SUIT ME?

The two most popular body sculpting treatments in the market are CoolSculpting and EMSculpt NEO. Expectedly, the most commonly asked question our body-sculpting team gets is “Is CoolSculping or EmSculpt NEO better? “

We understand that all patients want the “best” ONE treatment that is within their budget, gives superb results and works fast.

The truth is, there isn’t a “best overall” but there is a “right treatment” for every individual and that depends largely on his/her current physical state and the desired end goal.

Let us break it down for you.

WHY:

Why are you considering body-sculpting procedures?

Is it to lose fat? Or are you merely struggling with the ability to firm and tone certain body parts? Or do you need to lose overall body weight? In strict terms, ‘losing weight’ and ‘losing fat’ can be two different goals altogether.

A body assessment by our doctors would help to determine your true condition. The fact is, CoolSculpting reduces fat. EMSculpt NEO tones muscles.

CoolSculpting will only treat stubborn pockets of fat. However, CoolSculpting will not build muscle.

WHATIs CoolSculpting and EMSculpt NEO the same thing?

Though both enjoy high popularity due to the fact that they are proven to deliver outstanding outcomes worldwide, they are not entirely the same. Both harness unrelated technologies which change your body in different ways.

Hence our doctors have always emphasised the importance of a body assessment session prior to any quotation or recommendations for a potential body contouring patient. The key to measurable and satisfied outcomes are to use the right tool for the right purpose at the right time.

HOWHow does CoolSculpting and EMSculpt NEO work hand in hand?

As mentioned above, EMSculpt NEO is NOT the same as CoolSculpting.

CoolSculpting uses cryolipolysis, a technology that destroys fat cells by freezing them. The dead cells are then permanently and naturally removed by your body. This elimination process of fat cells shrinks and reduces the size of the treated area. CoolSculpting is the gold standard non-surgical fat reduction choice for those who want to spot-reduce body parts that have pinchable fat bulges. This is usually on the abs, thighs, back, hips, flanks, banana rolls, upper arms, or under the chin.

EMSculpt NEO combines electromagnetic and radiofrequency energy to contract muscles of the treated body part as much as tens of thousands per session. It is designed to help build new muscle fibers and tone existing fibers for better-sculpted muscles.

Our patients who receive this treatment often experience a reduction of fat by 30% and an increase of muscle by 25% on each treated part. Other body sculpting technologies can remove up to 20% subcutaneous fat per body part but EMSculpt NEO can break down both subcutaneous and visceral fat, which is ideal for those with a beer belly. EMSculpt NEO is currently indicated to treat the stomach (abs muscles), buttocks (glutes), thighs, and upper arms.

WHOSo is it suitable for YOU?

If you have even a moderate fat layer over your muscles, you won’t be able to fully appreciate the power of EMSculpt NEO. We would recommend CoolSculpting first followed by  EMSculpt NEO to refine the results,” Josh Chua, Director and Certified Body Contouring Specialist said.

EMSculpt NEO is also proven effective for diastasis recti, a common issue faced by ladies post-pregnancy. It works by toning the abs and can reduce diastasis recti by 11%.

WHEN:

You can undergo both CoolSculpting and EMSculpt NEO in the same timeframe.  By reducing fat with CoolSculpting first followed by EMSculpt NEO to build, firm and tone, you can customise your body as svelte and toned as you like.

Treatment Protocol:
Patients often achieve their desired results in as little as one treatment per body part, but it is possible to schedule follow-up treatments around two months after the initial session. Josh, our Body Sculpting Director recommends 1 CoolSculpting session each week for 2 weeks, followed by 2 EMSculpt NEO sessions.
If the patient has very loose skin or sagging skin, we recommend 2-3 sessions of EMTone. This varies from individual to individual and we can only determine the exact numbers of sessions after a body consultation discussion with our doctors.
Patients will generally see measurable results in 1-3 months time.

Maintenance:
The fat cells are permanently removed after CoolSculpting and EMSculpt NEO. Patients are advised to adopt a healthier lifestyle and watch their food intake. Otherwise the remaining fat cells can increase in size and this would diminish the results that were achieved. In short, the results are permanent ONLY IF patients do not put on weight post-treatment. Permanent fat reduction after any body sculpting procedures has to be maintained with a balanced lifestyle which includes a sensible diet, regular exercise and getting enough sleep.

With so many options on the market, we understand how confusing it can be to make sense of all the differences between various fat loss, body sculpting and toning procedures.

Hence it is important to consult with an experienced, reputable aesthetic doctor before investing in any treatment. Research and talk to doctors who possess aesthetic medical training and knowledge of anatomy, proportion and symmetry to ensure great results.

CoolSculpting and EMSulpt are both FDA-cleared, non-invasive procedures. Rest assured that in our doctors’ well-trained hands, there are minimal risks but maximum returns in the form of a healthier and stronger body which translates to a happier you!

So if you are ready for a breakthrough in your battle to reduce fat and build muscle, schedule a consultation with our doctors!
